Prenatal Education Bundle w Newborn Class: Birth Prep Essentials, Easing Labour Pain Class, and Regina General Hospital Tour
Take charge and create your version of an ideal birth! Prepare for your birth, learn important tips, and ask questions – all from the comfort of your home.
1) Birth Essentials – Prenatal Class Online Series focuses on preparation, birth and the immediate postpartum hours. (The Interventions Class is included as part of this series.)
Topics include:
- Signs of labour
- Stages of labour and what to do
- When to go to hospital
- Birth support
- Interventions, pain meds & routine procedures
- Informed decision making
- Tips for a more comfortable and shorter labour
- Up-to-date hospital policies and practices
2) Easing Labour Pain is an online class that features information not covered in any other local prenatal workshop. We teach partners and companions to provide comfort during birth! It’s about the best 2 hours you can spend preparing for your birth.
The class features:
- Hands-on practice with your partner
- Shared stories
- Practical information to help you prepare for labour
- Many labour positions
- Ideas for what the birth companion can do to help
- Information about medical informed consent (and how to really get it) so you both feel more control during the birth experience.
3) Regina General Hospital Tour will show you where to go, provide you tips, and help you be more prepared for your birth. The most up-to-date policies will be presented.
Learn and see:
- Where to park at RGH
- Which doors to use at various times of the day or night
- Where and how to navigate C-19 screening and the registration desks
- The path to the birth unit from the main entrance
- The birth unit and a birth room
- The mother-baby unit and a postpartum room
- The location and info about outlets and services available in the hospital
- Up-to-date policies and procedures for birthing in general and also considering C-19
